 I’ve learned the meaning of being untouchable...

Untouchable means being unstoppable and capable of anything but today as I stand here amid modern madness, I now know what the literal meaning of untouchable is.

A world like never. Isolated in our homes with no contact as if we have been imprisoned but only this time, we are imprisoned to do the right thing. A pandemic has taken the world by storm making everyone untouchable while being untouchable. How is it possible to make everyone untouchable while being untouchable? A world which was run by man is now run by a world pandemic, a virus if you will. Social distancing to nationwide lockdowns from elbow greetings to longing for a hug we have become untouchable in a world where we were unstoppable.

But who is to blame? When we were the ones who ripped forests apart and captured millions of animals to feed our appetites and test false cures. We are to blame for bringing a virus like covid-19 by taking it away from its host cells and introducing them to a new host cells... us. The big question is, is the virus untouchable? if oceans are not untouchable and ice glaciers are not untouchable then is the virus which has made us untouchable, untouchable?

It is only us who can see the mistakes we have made by feeding our greed and leading ourselves to a mass extinction. As the world heals and we become untouchable it is up to us to join forces and become untouchable together by being the cure to the deeper sickness by nurturing the oceans, grasslands and forests that nurture us by bringing back the chorus of monkeys and birds to silent forests by making wise choices everyday by protecting nature in all of it forms. You are protecting yourself by being untouchable as the world becomes untouchable and heals as it stops the planes, the cruises, the factories, the gatherings, the parties leaving us untouchable as a reminder that we have no choice as the world is brought to a halt. It is up to you to decide what is your untouchable future.

We have to stop the killing, the selfishness, the pain, the destruction, the lack of compassion, the lack of care, the lack of love as we face hunger worldwide, poverty worldwide, killing worldwide. This is enough this should be untouchable as the world came to a halt to remind us to stop as we ran the rat race of modern madness: fires, tsunamis with sinking cities, melting glaciers and we still did not work together to be untouchable but rather we watched ourselves become untouchable because we didn’t listen. I know its hard to listen when society is fighting to be untouchable but now as we are forced to listen it is important for us to understand the meaning of being untouchable now that we are listening by allowing the untouchable virus to leave without returning.
